The PePe Show

Hey everybody!

Just wanted to let you know that I stayed way too late, again, getting ready for the show. As such, I am going to have to delay it and record on Monday. Since I have everything ready-to-go, I should be able to do it as soon as I am home from work.

My appologies to all my listeners.

I really need to to start preparing on Saturday.  This way I will have it ready for Sunday, first thing.

Hey Everybody!

As you may already know if you are a fan of my work.  I am constantly trying to better the show.  One of the things I was not too satisfied was the show notes.  I acknowledge that they have been too lengthy.  Yet, I still want to be informative to those interested.

You may not know this, but I was using a Wiki site (installed on my home computer) to manage my show notes.  It made it very easy to post my thoughts and change from anywhere I was.  However, I did not want to make that public as it would not be 100% reliable.

So, in an effort to make my show notes available, I have created a new wiki site on The PePe Show site.  I present to you the Show Notes Wiki site: http://www.thepepeshow.com/PodCast/ShowNotes.

Feel free to jump in any time!  The only thing I ask is for you not to vandalise the site.

“What the heck is an RSS feed?” you may ask. Well, it’s technical and I don’t want to bore you with the details. Especially if you are new to The PePe Show, what a way to introduce you to one of the most entertaining podcasts on the internet. (Hey, if I don’t give kudos to myself, who will?) If you are new and don’t know where to start, simply click on the “play in popup” link under Episode 8, or any of the episodes listed below. Or, if you’d prefer, check out the getting started page. It will give you a general overview of how to listen to podcasts. If you are a regular, then you know what to do.

So as you may already know, I am always trying to improve the site. In doing so, I failed to realize that I made some changes that messed up the syndication feed that pushes The PePe Show to your aggregator programs and other websites. This syndication feed is the infamous RSS feed. Well, it turns out that the feed was including everything but the podcast! What a drag! To make things worse, it seems that this happened when I posted Episode 7.

As I was checking to see how many people had downloaded The PePe Show, I noticed that no one had. It was very strange because the numbers were high and all of a sudden they dropped to nothing. I was sure that it had to do with the website that tracks the downloads. I knew it was wrong.

Well, it wasn’t, but thank goodness it wasn’t that no one was listening to the show. It was my mistake for fudging with the website.

Hey Everybody!

Just wanted to let you know that in the next coming weeks I will slowly start to make some changes to the website. One of the more exciting changes will be the site theme. However, little by little, I will also be making some subtle changes.

One of the first changes I want to make is the Blog portion of the website. It will no longer be used to blog anymore. Instead, I will use it to post announcements, and such. For example, this announcement is the type of posting I will be doing.

The other change I will be making is the show notes. I notice that they make the posts very long. Instead, I will just post the topics and songs. However, I will not be posting the details of the show. This change will be beneficial for several reasons. First, it makes the posts easier to read as they will be shorter. Second, it allows me to publish the podcast faster as I don’t have to review it and mark it with times. And last, I don’t have to worry about wrong times.
